About Your Therapist

Angela Bothwell is currently available for individual counseling services for adults directly through Sacred Path in San Luis Obispo. She works with a range of issues under clinical supervision (LMFT supervisor license # provided in link below). Angela also has experience serving as a hospice grief counselor, providing support for death-related losses. Prior to pursuing an M.A. in counseling psychology, her background includes 24 years as a massage therapist, reiki therapist, and meditation instructor.  Angela is also a certified grief educator, HeartMath Clinical Interventions provider, clinical trauma professional, and a certified integrative functional nutritionist. 

As an emotion-focused therapist, Angela works with emotions as a compass to locate core needs and navigate communication struggles. Her style is integrative, and she also incorporates coherence therapy, mindfulness-based cognitive therapy, somatic therapy, parts work, and brainspotting. Treatment areas include anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, relational conflict, grief, and stress management. Angela can work with you on a range of issues.
